1. How to request deletion

Two paths, your choice. Both lead to the same deletion.

You still have the app: Settings > Account > Delete my account. Deletion starts immediately, without going through us.

You no longer have the app (uninstalled, new phone, lost phone): write to contact@playmirror.so with the subject “Delete my Mirror account”, giving the email address you used with Mirror — the one from your Apple or Google sign-in, or the one you wrote to us from. We only use it to find the right account and to confirm the deletion to you. We handle the request within one month, in practice much faster.

You do not need an account, a sign-in or the app to make this request.

2. What is deleted

Everything that ties you to Mirror goes, permanently:

  • your account and the identifier attached to it;
  • your profile: first name, birth year, occupation, goal, how you heard about Mirror;
  • your progress: avatars, lessons completed, your day-by-day streak history, vacation periods;
  • your messages: support requests and feedback you sent us — including free-text messages;
  • your referrals: your invite code, the links with the people you invited or who invited you, your referral statistics.

This is permanent: the data is not set aside, archived or recoverable. If you reinstall Mirror afterwards, you start from scratch.

3. What we keep, and why

There are two exceptions, and we would rather write them down than leave them unsaid.

  • Your purchase records. If you subscribed, accounting and tax law require us to keep a record of the transaction, for up to 10 years. It contains the amount and the date, not your activity in the app. Your purchase history also lives with Apple or Google, depending on where you paid.
  • Aggregated statistics. Overall usage measurements — how many people open Mirror, which steps get completed — in which nothing can be traced back to you any more.

4. Timing

  • Immediate: your account and the data listed above.
  • Within 30 days: the residual copies left in our technical logs and backups, until the erasure cycle reaches them. They are not used for anything else in the meantime.

5. What deletion does not do

  • It does not cancel your subscription. A subscription is cancelled in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Deleting your account without cancelling would leave you paying for an account that no longer exists.
  • Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. It only erases what is stored on your phone; the account itself remains.

6. Contact us

A question, a doubt about what was erased, an access or portability request: contact@playmirror.so. We reply within one month.

The data controller is Jordan Gloaguen, sole trader, 61 rue Chevalier de Kermelec, 29000 Quimper, France. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or with the data protection authority of your country.

The details of what we collect and why are in our privacy policy.
